“ The Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you… and you will be changed into another person.
“ The Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you… and you will be changed into another person.” (1 Samuel 10:6)
Don’t give up! Don’t even think about it! Get it out of your mind! I am aware of the insane things that face you and the seemingly impossible demands that lay before us. Left to ourselves, we would surely jump over the wall. But we are not left to ourselves, our Lord is with us and about to do great things through us. My daughter Melissa and her husband Rob recently traveled to Italy. They were impressed by the beauty of that country. They also saw Michaelangelo’s (no relation) statue of David. It was magnificent. When Michaelangelo was asked how he made that statue he said, “there’s an angel inside this marble and I must set it free!”
King Saul faced impossible situations and God told him three things to help him… all in 1 Samuel 10:6-7. First… “the Holy Spirit of the Lord will come upon you”. The Holy Spirit will be with Him, he won’t be alone and he does not have to do anything outside of God’s plans. He must not move on his own agenda and power, but God’s… and there is the blessing! None of this will be Saul’s work, but God’s. Rest in that.
Secondly, “you will be changed into another person”. Read 1 Samuel 10:6-7. The Holy Spirit will work deep in you and change you from what you were to what God wants you to be. He will transform you and enable you to do what you can never do without him. As you surrender, He will change you. Believe that!
Thirdly,” you will do as the occasion demands for God is with you.” You will know what to do, when to do it and how to do it. He has not left you alone in what you face. His presence is your answer, direction and fulfillment. God will work afresh in you. You will do what the occasion demands, not what others demand. So don’t get discouraged. Trust in His promises and power and change your attitude… for there’s an angel inside and He will set it free! Don’t give up!
