Stop Keeping the Past Alive

“He cancelled out the certificate of debt… he has taken it out of the way… having nailed it to the cross” Colossians 2: 14

The greatest victory ever achieved by anyone has been the triumph of the cross of Jesus Christ. Many people do not see the cross as a victory. They may only see it as a gruesome death that achieved nothing. How wrong they are! The cross is a clear winner and victory over sin, death and the devil. There is no way we could pay the debt that sin has incurred for us. In ourselves, we have no ability to do so. But on the cross, our sin and the certificate of that debt was taken away… nailed to the cross. We have been forgiven and given the peace of being made right with God through Jesus Christ.

Look what Scripture tells us… “We have peace through the blood of the cross” Colossians 1:20 “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed out transgressions from us” Psalm 103:12 “…and I will not remember your sins” Isaiah 43:25 “For I will forgive their iniquity and their sin I will remember no more” Jeremiah 31:34 “You will, cast all ours sins in the depth of the sea” Micah 7:19 “He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death in order to present you before Him holy, blameless and beyond reproach” Colossians 1:22

God forgets our sins so stop bringing them up once we are forgiven. All that does is give the devil ammunition to come against us. Stop keeping the past alive by rehearsing your sins and instead, proclaim the victory of the cross and the forgiveness that is in Christ. There is no better time than to start right now!
