There is always room at Light of the World Church for you to get involved. When you volunteer your time and talents to the work of God in the church, the body grows and builds itself up (Ephesians 4:16).

The Altar Workers Ministry assists new believers in understanding their decision to receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord an Savior.
Those involved in our Welcome Center Ministry welcome first time visitors after the service to give them a gift, refreshments, and answer any questions about the church or the surrounding area.
The Usher Ministry facilitates service by seating people, giving out first time visitor information packets and tithe envelopes, and assists in the offering collection.
The Greeting Ministry greets the church family and guides visitors into the church.
Our Music Ministry has a mission to seek God in prayer, encourage personal relationship with God among its members and lead the congregation in praise and worship through songs. Various talents and gifts are utilized in this ministry, ranging from voice and instrumentalists to soundboard operators.
From nursery to junior high, children are taught the importance of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, Bible study and activities.
The Communion Ministry helps prepare and distribute the communion elements during service once a month and for special services.
Words of Worship
The Words of Worship (WOW) Ministry works alongside the Music Ministry by providing on-screen lyrics to aid the congregation to participate in worship. In addition, the WOW Ministry produces and projects slides with announcements, prayer requests and other information before and after church services, to keep the congregation well-informed of all the activities and events at Light of the World Church.
Sound & Video
Connected with the Music Ministry, Sound & Video encompasses audio and video production. The ministry uses these various skills and technologies to augment the spreading of the gospel.
Food Service Ministry
This Ministry provides food and refreshments for all scheduled fellowships, ministry occasions, and special interest meetings. The Food Services Ministry also prepares coffee and refreshments at our fellowship time between services on Sundays. This ministry contributes greatly to the sense of community enjoyed by so many here at Light of the World Church.
Community Outreach Ministries
Our Care Connection Ministry serves a vital role by keeping contact with church members, staying updated with those that are ill or recovering, first time visitors, and new believers.
Extended Hands Ministry
The Extended Hands Ministry is dedicated to serving the Light of the World Church community by sharing and demonstrating the love, kindness and compassion of Jesus Christ. Assisting those in need is woven throughout scripture. The ministry core values are built around a Christ-like vision to support, encourage, comfort, empower and provide resources to address the immediate needs of our church family in which Light of the World church is established.
Jo's Closet: Community Outreach Ministry
The goal of this ministry is to show the Love of Christ to our community by providing gently used clothing to all in need. This ministry was a desired dream of our late first lady Joann Pierri and God has been faithful to make this dream a reality.
Missions: Home & Foreign
Our Home Missions focuses on outreach and social involvements in the United States outside the Poconos area. Foreign Missions cater to long and short term missions in countries outside the United States. This includes supporting long term missionaries to various countries and organizing short term mission trips.
The Prison Ministry serves in the Monroe County Correctional Facility twice a month on Saturdays. The team ministers to both men and women prisoners separately about the love of God. There is worship, scripture reading, prayer, and a short message is given. Inmates are allowed to ask questions and make comments about the message and how it can be applied to their lives. Prayer is offered for those who respond affirmatively to the Gospel and for any special needs they may have.
Our Transportation Ministry transports people to and from the church for services using the church bus or vans.
True Vine Outreach
True Vine Outreach is a ministry that reaches out to children, often from tough neighborhoods, with the love of Christ. The Gospel is presented using music, crafts, puppets, and the Word of God to show them their need for salvation.
This dedicated team visits the sick and aged in their homes, nursing homes, and hospitals.
School of the Bible
Within the heart of every believer must be a cry and a desire to have more of Jesus. Those who belong to Christ possess a hunger and thirst for the things of God that can only be satisfied and fulfilled by the knowledge and intimacy of Jesus Christ. One of the ways we do so is through the School of the Bible. Through classes and seminars we grow together in the wonderful knowledge and intimacy of our Lord Jesus Christ! Bible Studies are held every Friday Evening at 7 pm when in session. See our current schedule and study topics.
New Beginnings Ministry
This course is designed for New Believers in Christ who want to learn how to live their lives for Christ. God has given the new Christian instructions as to how to live for him. We will explore the Good News of the Kingdom, the life of Jesus Christ, and other topics such as how to read the Bible, how to pray, and how to be a strong Christian. The class meets every Wednesday from 7-8 pm in the Administration Building.
Book & Media
The Book and Media Ministry is responsible for the distribution and sales of sermon audio CDs preached weekly from the pulpit, music CDs, Bibles, biblically based books and other items. All visitors and members of the congregation have the opportunity to browse these items and purchase in the Book / Information Center after all regularly scheduled services. This ministry is one of the ways that visitors and members of the congregation come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior; and develop a deeper walk with Him.
The Men's Fellowship provides opportunity for the men to come together for fellowship, Bible studies, and prayer. We have a men's breakfast meeting every month and men's all night prayer meetings the third Friday of every month, as well an an annual men's weekend retreat.
The women’s ministry serves to encourage and disciple women by prayer, Bible study, fellowship and special events throughout the year that deal with issues all women can relate to.
Caleb Ministry (Sr’s)
Caleb is a specialized ministry for men and women 55 years and older. The group meets once a month for a meal, prayer, and fellowship. Sometimes, special speakers are invited to address relevant topics in the meetings. Group activities also include outings.
The Caleb Ministry's aim is to follow the model given by Caleb in the Bible, who was still as strong at 85 years old as when Moses first sent him into battle. He served the Lord wholeheartedly all his life and was ready for battle even in old age (Joshua 14:10-12). This example given by Caleb is an inspiration for those in their golden years to serve the Lord as passionately as ever before.
Ablaze Youth Ministry (Age 15–19)
The Ablaze youth ministry sets out to present the gospel of Jesus Christ to the youth of today in order to transform lives and develop a passion for God. Through the study of God’s Word, we look to learn core truths for fruitful Christian thinking and living. All the while, building strong bonds with one another. Our focus is knowing Jesus Christ…and we do that by developing a passion for His Word, identifying and using our God given gifts and abilities, formulating a Christian worldview, building relationships with peers and other groups, and preparing for adulthood. Ages 15 to 19 are welcome to join us in “The Loft” on Friday nights from 7–8:30 pm.
Crossroads Junior Youth Group (Age 11–14)
The Crossroads youth group for ages 11–14 meets on Friday nights at 7pm for praise and worship, the study and application of God's word, and other fun activities. We believe the Word of God will transform the lives of our youth and show their generation the path of reconciliation, salvation, and a standard of holiness in Jesus Christ.
The Marriage Ministry seeks to strengthen and encourage married couples to build stronger marriages. We do this by teaching the importance of a healthy marriage as described and instructed in the Word of God. This ministry brings awareness to couples concerning their covenant to God and to each other. This ministry is for all married couples interested in building a Christ-centered foundation for marriage.

Our Security team creates a safe environment in and outside of the church facilities.
Housekeeping volunteers serve behind the scenes by cleaning the church, youth rooms, and offices.
The Medical Team is made up of medically trained volunteers who are certified in First Aid, CPR, and medical care. The team is available at church services and special events to assist in case of a medical emergency.
The prayer team is made up of men and women who meet to pray for church services and the needs of our members on Saturday mornings. In addition, the church holds Intercessory Prayer on Wednesday evenings.
